Acorn tat on eBay reaches new low

Posted by Richard Goodwin on 13:30, 14/5/2003 | , , ,

Props to The Vigay for telling us about this one. Looks like the dumping of old Acorn stuff on eBay has reached rock bottom with the listing of an Acorn Carrier Bag, currently going for 98p with four days or so to go. I mean really. ARM development boards, fine; but carrier bags?

And no, I haven't bid. Yet.

Unregistered user Good god! We have a much nicer bag... the one from AW97, with the cardboard reinforcements, sturdy string handles, etc.

Should be worth at least a fiver by now - if only we hadn't used it for 6 years to save glass bottles in for recycling... smells a bit!!! :-p

I've probably got a few of those somewhere. All these years I was living on a goldmine without even realising it!

Pah thats nothing. I've got the old large hanging Acorn sign with internal strip lights from Beebug in my garage and it still works. Must be worth a fortune now :))

Change it to red for those more sultry RISC OS moments ;-)

Apparently Chris Evans has got in on the act and is selling Acorn mugs for a tenner (I bought mine for 1.99!). He's selling them via 4thD as some kind of tax dodge too ;)

I've got a Acorn bag that anyone can buy off me for a fiver :)
I wonder how much my Iyonix car sticker will be worth in a few years.

Unregistered user I got an R-Comp bag at Wakefield. Should I be hanging onto it? The ferrets are playing in it at the mo.

"R@re! R-Comp bag with ferret scratch marks! L@@K!"

;-)

(You'll have to imagine the above in upper case, since the comment system doesn't appreciate my sense of humour)

I've just remembered - I've got around 180 VTi balloons in my shed. Wonder how much they'd make...
