RISCOS Ltd. Annual Report 2002

Posted by Andrew Poole on 11:09, 29/8/2002 | , , ,

RISCOS Ltd. has released its third annual report for download on their website. You can get it in either PDF or Text format.

The report contains information about the future plans for RISC OS Select, some details about new and upcoming hardware, including the Omega and some general trivia on RISC OS Select.

You can get your copy from here.

Also, whilst I'm writing articles, AcornSearch has returned with a repaired server.

[Edit: Mistakes corrected... Thanks Chox!]

I found it slightly encouraging.
I'm utterly amazed that they have managed to reduce their operating loss by such a massive amount.
Previous year loss about £64000
This year loss about £8000.

Hopefully it's is only a small step from here to making a profit.

Yeah, I found it more encouraging than last year's (erm, not that I'm sad enough to read these things. Well okay, I was just curious before I bought my first RPC...) Plus they're at least talking about 32bit RISC OS without dismissing it :)

Read it; yes, far better than last years. I just wish I was viewing it with something that was capable of anti-aliasing :-/

I think the problem might be that it was produced by "Acrobat Distiller 3.01 for Windows"(!) according to the document info, which is strange as the recent promotional brochure was done using RiScript. Acrobat Reader on Windows 95 here at work anti-aliases the text in the latter beautifully.

I'll get around to looking at the content in a bit... :)

Yeah, the report looks terrible here too, it's the promo brochure (see prev news item) which looks mostly pretty good: http://bmsh.port5.com/promo.jpg

Did the various discussions/wars about emulation ever reach a sensible conclusion? I notice that there's a lot of "talk" in the report about letters from solicitors and vague gentleman's agreements, but evidently very little "action" going down.
