After the downer of the previous news item about negative comments harming RISC OS development, here's something a little more positive.
Graham Wootten sent us
this article after his trip to the recent BETT show. He went to do his part to get more people interested in RISC OS development, and tells us of his experience.
This ties in nicely with the news that
VirtualA5000 is going from strength to strength, not just with regular customers but also one (unnamed) developer who will produce both RISC OS and Windows version of their software using VA5000 to speed up development. Other developers have also expressed interest which means VirtualAcorn will see further development itself to suit the needs of these companies.

It's nice to see some positive comments on RISC OS in education. I believe it could still flourish in that market, but who is gunning for it?!
Congrats. to VirtualAcorn too. Any news on who the developer is? Interesting how it only seems to be RISCOS Ltd. that disagree with it... |

I agree, it is great to hear positive news! It's also great to hear atleast one user has taken the simple step trying to educate developers about RISCOS. Keep it up, send them emails, faxes, phone calls and letters. We need them to know RISCOS still has a pulse. |

I was talking to someone involved with Tomorrow's World
recently, and asked why RISC OS was never mentioned. It was suggested that whilst software items
were a great turn-off something on the lines of Explan's
solar-powered computer they could definitely use. I gave
Explan's web address and a copy of Acorn User and Acorn Publisher.
One can live in hope that something may come of it.

That's *excellent*! And it's exactly the kind of thing I can imagine Tomorrow's World covering. |

RISC OS was never mentionned specifically but I remember seeing A3000s and A310's - probably because they were still *BBC* Micro's..... |
