The Icon Bar: News and features: SDL Library for RISC OS

SDL Library for RISC OS

Posted by Andrew Poole on 10:14, 13/5/2003 | , ,

Peter Naulls (on the right of the picture), of porting fame has just e-mailed The Icon Bar to let us know that he has released the SDL Library for RISC OS on his riscos.info website. On the website, you can download the library itself and a link to the SDL site where the source code can be obtained via CVS. Peter points out that the port was largely done by Alan Buckley.

More information about the SDL libraries and what they are capable of is available on the official SDL website.

Lol!
I was halfway through doing an update for this on the Acorn Arcade site before I thought of checking here first!
Cheers!

I thought it did, but there's no point duplicating news and I guess it's not just games ports that will benefit from this.
Cheers!

Unregistered user "On the website, you can download the library itself and the source code too." says the article.

You can't download the source code at all.

Unregistered user Instructions on obtaining the sources, along with the RISC OS build files, are to be found on Mr Naulls' site.

Anyway, isn't someone going to port pygame? That's when the real game development can get started. :-)

Unregistered user Jeffrey Lee reckoned he could port something. Maybe, but we've heard it before.

Well it's a bit hard to port something if the source isn't available yet ;)
