The MicroDigital website is certainly seeing a few news items these days, charting the progress of chip changes and the like. However, this weekend's message will bring cheer to a market currently holding its collective breath - news of the first demo of a working Omega to the public.

According to the web site, "Despite numerous reports that questioned its very existence, the dual StrongARM processor Omega computer range will make its first public appearance on STAND 3 at the Wakefield Show on Saturday and Sunday 19th and 20th May at Thornes Park Athletics Stadium, Horbury Road, Wakefield.".

Of course you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet (apart from our site, of course ;), but MD are also promising that this "...will be the publics first opportunity to see and test drive these ultra powerful 26/32 bit state of the art machines, you can also discuss the full specification, much of which is yet to be released, with the people who designed and manufacture the Omega."

There's also a little dig at MD's competitors, who according to the rumour mill have been less than friendly with each other with so many companies now trying to sell to such a small market: "For those out there who have never attended the Wakefield Show come along and see the best hardware and software available on the planet come together in one hall. Compare our new Omega range with those of our competitors, and who knows we may just have a few surprises of our own."
