Is it possible to use a Power-Tec (Alsystems) Generic SCSI with ATAPI & CDFS. On a Archimedes A420/1? It shows up in *Podules and when its booting. And I dont have any software for the card. |

I don't think the A400/1 series came with an on-board ATA (IDE) interface, but an ST-506 interface. However, if you had a SCSI CD-ROM drive, you could use CDFS with a SCSI drive, I believe (though I think the card might need to provide an additional module).
You'll probably need some formatting software for hard discs, but otherwise I've got an Eesox scsi card and don't need any other software. The card has modules on board that provide commands to see what's connected to the bus, and generally new devices appear in the desktop at boot automatically.
I'd assume the powertec solution is similar in those respects at least. |

All you need is provided by Partis computing, you can subscribe their assistance maintenance program to obtain all help and software you need for your Powertec SCSI (Alisystem) card.
I have a SCSI CDROM On my RiscPC (Pioneer) SCSI 2 and it works very fine with powertec, but you need to configure the card via Partis software or via *Configure options.
