R-Comp at Wakefield

R-CompIt seems that every time I look in the news mail box there is a email from a RISC OS company with exciting news [Must be a show around the corner - Ed.]. R-Comp have contacted us to announce a number of new products and updates for Wakefield 2004.

The R-Comp Internet Suite has been updated to work on Virtual-RPC. R-Comp expained "The way internet access and networking are implemented on VirtualRPC mean that traditional methods of internet access via RISC OS (eg. our DialUp software) are no longer the right tools for the job". They have updated their internet suite to replace DialUp with a version of NetFetch adjusted to work on VirtualRPC. The suite costs 30ukp inc as an upgrade for existing users. This price includes a manual describing its use on VRPC, and technical support for VRPC users.

New versions of UniPrint VA/PCcard, UniPrint regular, and UniPrint deluxe will be avaialable for a 10ukp upgrade charge, and allows users to utilise the printing capabilities of Windows PC systems to print to almost any printer, direct from RISC OS applications.

MusicMan will be updated to refelect user feedback.

XAT's HID keyboard/mouse/joystick drivers for the Iyonix will be available at the show, priced 10ukp. These drivers allow many advanced facilities of modern keyboards and mice to be used on the Iyonix, and the latest version supports USB joysticks too.

WebsterXL will have another free upgrade available which will encompass more features, more web sites, more operating system variants, and so on. This will be sent to existing customers after the show.

Anyone wishing to upgrade at the Show should take their old disc(s) with them.
